Who is T&G Global Institute?
T&G is a private educational institution that offers language classes (English, French, German, Russian, and Spanish) at an affordable price. They cater to 80+ young adults who live and work in Punta Cana, the center of the Dominican Republic’s tourism. Their mission is to ensure that young people living in the most important tourist area of the country can master a minimum of 3 different languages to increase their chances of employment in the hospitality industry.
Goals & Objectives
T&G Global previously relied solely on in-person classes but has been forced to transform their traditional teaching methods due to Covid-19. What sets them apart from your average language school is that they focus on specific topics related to the hospitality industry catering to the international working population in Punta Cana. Furthermore, their teaching philosophy is drawn from class participation and conversation, where students can improve their spoken fluency.
Our Approach & Results
T&G opted for the CanopyLAB learning platform because of its modern and renewed take on online learning. The platform architecture allows every instructor to create courses based on a specific topic that is then divided into a series of units that support the central activities and multimedia materials needed to ensure successful and hands-on language learning.
For instance, the exercise tag feature allows learners to upload voice recordings or video presentations, allowing for the instructors to provide specific feedback on their pronunciation and fluency.

From listening exercises and vocabulary quizzes to online discussions and sharing presentations, students are able to embark on an immersive experience at their own pace and from their own homes. In order to continue providing quality language courses, G&T has redesigned their course offerings to include distance learning at its core in order to remain competitive and reach a larger number of students across the Dominican Republic and beyond.
