ATOS works on a two-fold strategy: to prevent children’s unnecessary separation from their families and to find local alternative family-based care services for children without parents. The challenge is to assist communities in building local protection systems to respond to the needs and social problems faced by families at risk of separation. Using advocacy and raising awareness, they strengthen the country's social services and protection mechanisms.
We helped ATOS to deliver a course focused on the dangers of volunteerism: How to be a Smart Volunteer, through our free e-Learning platform for youth, StudentLAB. This course aimed to teach the learner how dangerous it can be for children to be placed in an orphanage and how harmful it can be to support these systems, primarily through volunteerism.

Project ARC’s is all about "Authentic Learning", thus achieving desired outcomes that every teacher wants to have in their classroom for every student. Different teaching methodologies have allowed for different types of student exploration including those introduced by Project ARC. Courses consider the following questions: What can teachers do regardless of their classroom subject, size or student age? How could their successful workshops be translated into the online environment?
Project ARC is offering two introductory courses for teachers that would allow them to question some of their methods and see the value behind Project Arc’s methodology. Through forums and use of collaborative exercises, teachers were able to learn from each other.

The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership (Clal) wanted to implement online leadership programs and use a platform that could make their training programs more engaging and more efficient. They were looking to offer meaningful learning experiences for their audience but doing so with the traditional approach of video lectures and boilerplate assignments had not been working. In keeping with its mission, Clal needed a platform that fostered social interaction and which built learning around the exchange of ideas.
A LAB from CanopyLAB fit Clal’s needs by providing an easy-to-use entry point to make their training programs much more effective. Course creators loved the process of using AICATO, our AI-based course authoring tool, to create a course in minutes because it made their job easier while maintaining high standards of rigor. In addition, Clal’s focus on community building meant a LAB made making connections simple thanks to its social networking and tagging functionality.

The HER foundation aims to provide support and education for mothers with HG, a pregnancy disease marked by rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration due to unrelenting nausea and/or vomiting. Their biggest challenges include sharing research findings and important information with mothers who are often too sick to read through dense information packages about their illness. They offer online support via facebook groups or Instagram pages which is a tedious task for their staff to keep track of their thousands of followers.
HER foundation has partnered with CanopyLAB to create free online courses on the LAB for anyone in the world through short, relatable and easy to digest content. Courses include a survival guide for expecting mothers, a breakdown of physical and psychological symptoms and remedies and even an introductory HG course for family members, friends and anyone involved in the life of an HG mom. Users can explore course content at their own pace and easily access or revisit specific materials such as videos, infographics and additional resources within the units. The platform’s social features will create a space for mothers who spend a significant amount of time alone at home or in the hospital during their pregnancy to connect with a global support system.
The first courses were launched on October 1st, 2019. Throughout the preparation of the release, HG moms themselves have been involved in the course creation process by sharing their stories through videos about their experience with HG providing tips for other moms that will be part of the course series. You can access the first course in the series here. Fast forward to May 2020, and we are still collaborating immensely with HER Foundation, who has created an incredible free course on Covid-19 & Pregnancy.

We provided MOCICC with an AI-powered learning platform. The integrated social media network component was especially important for them and their community-building efforts. In addition to creating courses, MOCICC leverages our Zoom integration to host live online sessions. Later, the lives sessions were made available as asynchronous learning. You can access some of the workshops in StudentLAB including Escuela de Activismo 2021 and Escuela de Activismo Climático 2022.
